Two thirds of faulty hips were fitted in private hospitals

Call for safety controls in wake of implant scare

John Dalli , the European commissioner for health, has written to member states urging immediate action to ensure the safety of medical devices following the PIP breast implant scare. He said member states could take safety measures now, even though the Commission will not present its proposal to revise EU rules on medical devices until later this year ...
